Proposition 30: Governor Jerry Brown's Tax Increases for Education and Public Safety

I think that Proposition 30 is the most important of all the propositions beacuse it increases the money that goes through school and public safety fundings. Additional tax from each individuals will go go K-12 schools and community colleges. It is important that schools get the proper funding that they need in order to keep students in school and keep subjects and courses they need.
The advantage of this proposition is that more money will go to public schools and community colleges that really need the funding to provide for their curriculums. The disadvantage is that the income tax rates for individuals who make more than $250,000 and couples who make more than $500,000 will increase. This will also hurt small businesses and does not guarantee new money for education funding.
I am now 18 years old, and I would vote yes for Proposition 30 because I feel that education is important to our lives. Education is the bridge to success and it provides knowledge not only for the children but all for adults. Proposition 30 is important to students and teachers all over America.

The Canterbury Tales: Royal Cook

If I was to live in the Middle Ages, my occupation would have been a a royal cook. I would live in a small bungalow in a small town in England called Clovelly. Though I live in Clovelly, I travel to London almost everyday to do my job as a royal cook for the King and Queen. As the royal cook, one of the many challenges I face on a daily basis to anticipating whether the King and Queen will be more than satisfied with my delicious delicasies that I have put so much effort into creating just for their taste buds. I do not have any family beside my mother, who is faintly ill and needs to be taken care of by my neighbor whilst I am away at work. I do not have any other family due to the fact that my time has been consumed by the King and Queen and tehir royal appetites. The world around me is nothing like I have ever imagined. There are so many things that I have not yet seen, though I am part of this royal environment. My place is to be in the kitchen and the kitchen is where I am told to stay. My surrounding is not what I had hoped and expected. It is far more broad than I had thought. I am not so sure whether I like my surrounding, or I am just used to it. As one of the royal servants, it is necessary to have military training. Unfortunately for me, I do not have any military training as I am only a poor cook who happens ro have been chosen to serve for the King and Queen. Despite working for royalties, I value the teachings of my mother and where I came from. I was told that no matter how successful you become, you must look back to where you came from. Not only will this help you reach success further, but it will also stand as a reminder to keep your feet planted on the ground. In the future, I hope to serve not only the royalties of England but also royalties all over the world. I hope to keep their appetites more than satisfied. As a royal cook, my job is to keep those who consume my delicasies happy and proud.
